AC Palacio De. Retiro, 5* hotel

Hotel with 50 rooms located in front of the famous Retiro Park, close to the Paseo de Recoletos. This is perhaps the best hotel located within the “golden triangle” of the Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia museums. This is a an early 20 century building once owned by noble family with extravagant habits ((the elevator carried the horses up and down from the exercise ring on the roof) and is protected by the National Heritage Authority. Reconverted and inaugurated as a hotel on 15 September 2004. The decor it modern however Palacio preserves even more of its grandiose past: baseboards and fountains covered with ceramics from Talavera, original Parisian stained-glass windows, marble floors and columns, and original moldings.
All rooms well decorate, equipped with modern amenities and most have superb views of the nearby Retiro Park. The double superior rooms' bathroom doors are full-size Lichtenstein silk-screen prints
