Cruise Excursion from Constanta Port
“North Dobrogea Monasteries & the Danube Delta”

Description
The road will cross the oldest mountains of Europe and the wild roses reservation of Babadag. The city of Tulcea, laid out on seven hills like Rome, has been an important harbor since ancient times. Founded in the 7th century BC by the Dacians, Aegyssus, as the city was known in antiquity, was conquered by the Romans who rebuilt it after their plans, their technique and vision.
A boat trip for about two hours, on a beautiful lake belonging to the Danube Delta, will end at Saon monastery, located in a picturesque landscape, on the shore of a lake. The organization of the monastery was started by monks from Celik Dere monastery, during the Ottoman domination, in 1846. Starting 1916 the monastery is inhabited by nuns.
Lunch will be served at the monastery and includes specific Romanian dishes and local wine.
After you visit to Saon monastery, rejoin the bus and drive back to your ship.
