Private tours in Dubronik, Croatia
This morning meet your local guide and driver at the pier.
Our tour begins with a short sightseeing trip by minibus to reach the hill
overlooking the city from where we have a spectacular view of
Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful stone-built cities in
the world. Then your driver and guide will transfer you to Ploce point from
where you will
join your guide for a funicular ride up to the Srđ Hill. Enjoy the spectacular
panoramic views of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, sea and the nearby islands.
Then your guide will take you for a private walking tour of the old town of
Dubrovnik.
A town-museum is a one-of-a-kind destination which makes you fall in love it and
come back to it over and over again in an endless pursuit of unique experiences.
More than a thousand-year history is reflected in every part of the town.
An important maritime port and a one-time state, it has always been a cultural
metropolis.
As one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Dubrovnik owes its special charm to the
historic monuments which testify to its rich history. The works of artists,
writers and scientists of Dubrovnik have been woven into the texture of the
town.
You will have approximately 2 hourr of fre time for lunch before you will
continue your tour with a walk around the magnificent city walls of Dubrovnik,
one of the most harmonious and best preserved ramparts in the Mediterranean. An
uninterrupted flow of walls, almost 2 km of length, with mighty forts, towers
and bastions, were intended to protect this vulnerable city.
"Non bene
pro toto libertas venditur auro" or “Freedom
is not to be sold for all the gold in the world” is the message that is
engraved on the doors of the Lovrijenac fortress. For centuries it was the
stalwart defender of Dubrovnik’s freedom, and probably best describes the soul
and of this ancient Mediterranean town. On the borderline
between the east and the west, Dubrovnik was
always compelled to protect its freedom many times throughout the history. But
what always made it to survive even the hardest moments is precisely its thirst
for freedom.
Later this afternoon (at appointed time) your driver will
wait for you at Pile gate for your private transfer back to the port.
