This tour gives you a chance to see and compare with your own eyes and compare Russia's two capitals - the old and the new. Moscow, the ancestral capital of the Tzars, was founded by Yiry Dolgoruky in 1147. It is build around the walled citadel of the Kremlin, a treasure house of ancient cathedrals, palaces and museums. Since 12th century Moscow has been the center of the Russian Empire. St.-Petersburg, Russia's pride, a museum and a world in itself, was created by contrast out of nothing but will of one man - tzar Peter the Great. Call it as you wish - Northern Venice, Palmira of the North, Northern Aurora. But none of these can fully express its beauty and fascinating elegance. Most of itineraries focus on Moscow -the center of current political transformation and St.-Petersburg - the gorgeous Tzarist capital on the banks of Neva River. These cities are enjoyable at any time of year.

of St.Basil the Blessed, the characteristic Tverskaya street,

street and the Victory Park with it’s fountains and churches, etc)

Tour to the Tretyakov State Gallery. The
Tretyakov State Gallery - one of the world’s largest museums, a treasure
house of old Russian art from the 11th cent. till our days. The gallery bears
the name of its founder, Pavel Tretyakov, a rich Russian manufacturer and patron
of art. He presented his collection to the city of Moscow in 1892. Now the
Tretyakov Gallery holds more than 50000 works of painting, graphic art and
sculpture.

4Welcome to St. Petersburg!
St Petersburg was founded in 1703 by the Tsar Peter the Great.
Despite its short
life so far, Petersburg has a rich and exciting history. From the early
days of Peter the Great's "Venice of the North" to the modern events of the 1991
coup d'etat, the city has always bustled with life and intrigue, revolution and
mystery. St. Petersburg is one of the most historically significant cities in
Europe. It is a city easy to walk around.
Panoramic City Tour - all major city highlights including visits to Peter & Paul Fortress, the burial place of all Russian Emperors, and St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the forth highest cathedral in the world with breathtaking design.
During this tour you will visit Nevsky Prospekt, the main street of St. Petersburg, the magnificent ensembles of the city, such as the Palace Square with the Hermitage and the Square of Arts, St Isaac's Square and the Senate Quare, the Admiralty, the Peter and Paul Fortress and the first harbour on the Basil Island, admire the most beautiful cathedrals and churches of the city, including the Church of the Resurrection (also called the Church on Spilled Blood) Kazan Cathedral, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Smolny Cathedral and St. Nicholas' Naval Cathedral.
You will see the most beautiful palaces and monuments of the city, such as the Winter Palace, the Mariinsky Palace and Michael Castle, the Bronze Horseman and the monument to Catherine the Great. You might be able to get on the decks of the legendary cruiser Aurora (during opening times) and enjoy the beauty of the Neva River, the main river in St. Petersburg, the numerous rivers and canals, as well as the many bridges of "The Venice of the North" to be amazed of.
Optional to add: Boat trip
The boat trip is a short sightseeing tour, in which the city is shown from the water. However, the sight that you will see during the Boat tour only partly overlap with those to be seen on the City Tour. The boat trip provides a unique perspective on the city and offers an unforgettable experience of St. Petersburg as this is the only way to get to know its entire charm of "The Venice of the North", with its numerous granite quays of its rivers and canals and countless bridges, each having its own character. The boat makes a loop which can comprise of, for example, the Neva River, the Fontanka River, the Kryukov Canal, the Moyka River and the Winter Canal. This way the boat will come under the Nevsky Prospekt, the main street of St. Petersburg, and the romantic Kiss Bridge over the Moyka River after passing by the spot where Kryukov Canal and Griboyedov Canal come together at the water crossing from which seven bridges can be seen at the same moment of time.
The guided Boat Trip takes about 1-2 hours to complete and can be booked during daytime or in the "White Night". For Boat Trips during the night, for example, to witness the opening of the bridges over the Neva River, a special price will be applied; the route and duration of this tour can also vary. During day times, interior visits of the Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Church of the Resurrection, or other excursions can be booked in combination with a Boat Trip

Choice of
Excursion to town of Pushkin (former Tsarskoye Selo)
The town of Pushkin (formerly Tsarskoye Selo) lies just outside St.
Petersburg and has a marvelous ensemble of palaces and parks. It is particularly
famous for its impressive baroque Catherine Palace, where Empress
Catherine the Great lived and died. The palace was almost totally destroyed
during World War II, but has risen like a phoenix from the ashes due to an
extensive restoration program undertaken since the war.
The palace we see today was designed by the Italian architect Bartolomeo
Rastrelli. Most of the restored interiors date back to the time of Empress
Elizabeth, the daughter of Peter the Great, though there are some early 19th
century interiors too. Catherine the Great chose to live in a separate wing of
the palace, and even at the age of 60 she quite happily walked the length of the
palace to reach the building’s private church every day.

Depart for Peterhof tour, including visit to Grand Palace and park with fountain

Petrodvorets (Peter's Palace), formerly called Peterhof, one of the major
palace-and-park complexes in the suburbs of St.-Petersburg, was founded by Peter
the Great in the suburbs of the "new capital" of Russia in the early 18th
century. The stately parks, innumerable fountains, beautiful cascades, guilt and
marble statues of gods and heroes, exuberant decoration of the palaces in
Peterhof were meant to symbolize the grandeur of Russia, which "having cut a
window on Europe" consolidated itself on the shores of the Baltic Sea.
If time is limited, these tours can be combined into one long day.

Excursion to the Hermitage Museum - the Hermitage
ranks among the world's major museums. Its collection consists of nearly three
million art objects. Exhibits are displayed in the Winter Palace, as well as the
Small, Old and New Hermitages. Concerts and ballet performances are given in the
former Hermitage Theater. The Hermitage collection has six departments: West
European art, the Antique world, primitive culture, Oriental culture and art,
the history of Russian culture, as well as numismatics.
Free time.
Cultural performance - Folkshow with fourchette at Nikolaevsky Palace.
Transfer to/from the performance.
