1 DAY:
Arrive at
Venice airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation, dinner and
overnight.
2 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Full
day tour of the historical centre of Venice. We start from Piazza San
Marco and admire La Basilica di San Marco- the city’s cathedral, the
seat of the patriarchate since 1807 and evidence of faith. We reach
the Palazzo Ducale known as the residence of Venetian rulers called
the “dogi” and continue across the famous Ponte dei Sospiri, the
Bridge of Sighs, the name coined in the nineteenth century to give an
idea of the sentiments of prisoners crossing there on their way to
prison and sighing while admiring the view of the beautiful sunny
lagoon for the last time in their lives. Lunch free. Return and dinner
in hotel.
3 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Venice and full day trip by boat
through the Lagoon Islands: Murano Island, one of the biggest one,
famous for its expert glass manufacturers, the Burano Island, well
known for its fine artistics laces, the Torcello Island, a fishermen’s
centre of great artistic and historical interest. Return to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight.
4 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Departure and transfer to Verona. We could visit
the famous Arena, “delle Erbe” Place, “dei Signori” Place, the famous
Juliet’s House (from the Sheakspear’s work “Romeo and Juliet”), the
Scaligeri’s Arc. Free Lunch. Return to the hotel. Dinner and
overnight.
5 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to Florence. We arrive at Piazza del
Duomo dominated by the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, the third
largest cathedral in the world, protected by Brunelleschi Dome. On the
left there is Giotto’s Belfry (Campanile di Giotto), completely
covered with white, pink and green Tuscan marble. In the centre of the
square there is the Baptistry. Free lunch. In the afternoon our
sightseeing tour continues. We go to Piazza della Signoria with its
Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. While in Florence you cannot
miss Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge), the oldest bridge of the city,
famous for the countless goldsmith’s shops which surround it.
We return to the hotel for dinner.
Overnight stay.
6 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to Rome.
A city tour of Rome
starting from Città del Vaticano- Vatican City, an independent papal
state on the Italian territory, the seat of government of the Roman
Catholic Church, a residence of the Pope. The most famous square of
Vatican City is St. Peter’s Square with St. Peter’s Basilica, the
spiritual centre of Christendom. We continue along Via Della
Conciliazione and we arrive at the Castel Sant’ Angelo, the first
residence of the Pope.
Then we walk towards one of Rome’s most beautiful and
famous squares: Piazza Navona Then we visit the Pantheon, an ancient
Roman temple dedicated to the gods, we go across Piazza del Popolo
with its characteristic Porta del Popolo by Bernini. In the centre of
that square you can see a great Egyptian Obelisk. Further on we can
admire The Trevi Fountain, the most beautiful and famous fountain in
the world. It owes its fame to the movie “La Dolce Vita “ directed by
Federico Fellini. We arrive in Piazza di Spagna with its
characteristic great perron of Trinità dei Monti ( the Spanish steps).
Piazza Venezia dominated by the imposing Vittoriano, a monument
commemorating Italian unity. Then we walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali,
an ancient centre of commercial, political and judicial life and we
proceed to see The Colosseum, an ancient arena on which gladiators
fought; the Constantine’s Arch; the Palatino, an ancient residence of
the emperors and the majestic Circo Massimo, Rome’s biggest arena.
Free lunch. Dinner and
overnight stay.
7 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to the mouth of Po river and visit to
the Natural Park. Boarding on boat and little cruise through the
“Delta”. We are in the natural park "Delta del Po" and we are going to
spend a particular day in one of the few incontaminated mileaus still
existing. The slow cruise on the delta will offer you the possibility
to plunge into the marsh vegetation of tamarisks and red thickets, the
reign of flora and fauna. More than one thousand of birds' spieces are
waiting for you: purple and grey herons, buzzards, hawks, ducks,
stilt-birds in a beautiful landscape of sand-banks and islets that
will certainly capture you. Accommodation in hotel and dinner.
8 DAY:
Breakfast in hotel.
Transfer to the airport and departure.
