A self drive vacation allows you to plan your own itinerary, select your overnight stops and choose the type of accommodation on a day-to-day basis. There is no better way to travel for those who really want to meet the Irish and absorb the local culture. You can start your vacation in Dublin or Shannon where you will pick up your car of choice on arrival. Your first night’s accommodation can be reserved in Dublin or Shannon, and you should request this service at the time of booking.

For the balance of your vacation, Brendan supplies you with vouchers for each overnight stay, accommodation directories, and a road map.

Bed and Breakfast

If you prefer discovering the local way of life in an informal and relaxed atmosphere then this is the choice for you. The Irish are known for their hospitality and friendliness, and conversation will not be in short supply. Relax in the garden, give a helping hand on the farm, or just sit back and relax on the porch or by a fire – the choice is yours.

You’ll find that some homes are hundreds of years old, while others were just built. You can choose from over 2,000 B&Bs located throughout Ireland. You can rest assured that the homes are routinely inspected to ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort and have been approved by the Irish Tourist Board. All homes provide private bathroom facilities.

You can use your B&B vouchers to upgrade to any hotel, manor, or castle on the Brendan program. Just present one of your accommodation vouchers to one of the participating hotels and castles and pay a special discounted upgrade supplement directly to that property. Your travel documents will include a directory that lists these charges.

First Class Hotels
Many travelers prefer hotels when traveling, and Brendan offers more than 250 hotels located throughout Ireland. These lodgings offer great variety and a full Irish breakfast is always included. You’ll find the hotels vary in personality from historic with old world charm to modern with many conveniences, while others are peaceful country inns. If you would like to sample a B&B for a few nights – no problem … a list of B&Bs will accompany your documents along with your hotel directory.

Castles and Manors
Why not experience the luxury of an Irish castle. Once in Ireland, upgrade to the famous and breathtaking properties of Dromoland and Ashford Castle. Look for the supplement in the Accommodations Directory you will receive with your documents. If you prefer, you can prebook these deluxe properties with Brendan before your trip.

• We recommend you purchase hotel vouchers for any nights you stay in Dublin and allow us to prebook them for you. During certain periods, city center hotels may require additional supplements.
• Unused vouchers, lost or stolen vouchers cannot be refunded or reissued.
• Car pick-up/drop-off without charge in Dublin, Cork, Shannon or Galway
• Driver age limit (21-74 years). This is strictly enforced. Higher age limits may apply for higher category automobiles.

Step 2. Select your preferred type of accommodation (B&Bs or Hotels). We will prebook your first night in Ireland and from then on you arrange each night with the accommodations directly. You are supplied with an accommodation directory. You pay via voucher.

Step 3. Choose whether you prefer to start your vacation in Dublin or Shannon.

Prices are based on 7 or more nights with private bath. Ask about prices for fewer nights (minimum 4 nights) and different car types

B&Bs: July and August – A supplement of Euro E7.50 (approx. $7.50) per room will be charged for all Dublin guesthouse accommodation

HOTELS: Children (up to 2 children under 12 years of age) pay direct to the hotel providing they share a room with 2 adults. This rate is determined by the individual hotel at time of check-in
