The hotel was open on April 21st in 1909 and built in Viennese Art Nouveau style. The design was the work the work of František Buldro, a Prague builder and the owner of the hotel, together with George Justich, the architect. In 1924, after Mr. Emanuel Oppel bought the building, Hotel Palace Praha became a sought-after center of social and cultural life and one of the few luxury 5-star hotels in Prague. Hotel Palace Praha´s first epoch of long duration ended on January 1^st 1986 when it was closed. After lengthy deliberations among experts and the general public, the idea was formed that the hotel should be thoroughly but sensitively renovated.

Its original character was preserved using the so-called ”house within a house” renovation scheme, i.e., keeping intact the outer wall and facade. It reopened in 1989 and since then has been offering top service and a home away from home to many prominent personalities from around the world. The last renovation of the Hotel Palace Praha was during the year 2000.

Hotel Palace Praha offers 124 luxury, fully air-conditioned rooms, including suites, for single or double occupancy. All rooms are furnished with period furniture, a colour television set with satellite programming, prepaid television channels and access to the internet. The rooms are further equipped with a minibar, a safe, 2 direct-dial telephones and the option of connection a fax or a computer. The bathrooms are lined with Carrara marble and of a Art Nouveau design. The Hotel has a wide range of suites available, from Junior Suite up to a Presidential Suite.

Providing an ambiance that indulges all the senses, the Gourmet Club Restaurant is one of the very finest dining experiences in the city center. Be prepared to spend time in this inviting place. You will feel special. You will be absorbed into the calming atmosphere where the soft strains of the grand piano and the gentle melody of the fountain create a perfect harmony. Only the freshest vegetables, fish and other principal ingredients are served. A fine selection of bread and patisserie are made on our premises. The principal influences on the menu are noticeably international with an accent on Mediterranean flavours and a harmonious mix of modern Czech cuisine.
