We look forward to being able to welcome you Built in 1835 as a private residence, on land once owned by The Priory of Bath Abbey, The Bath Priory Hotel and Restaurant blends into a row of 19th century houses on the west side of the city of Bath in Somerset. Fashioned from the traditional honey-coloured Bath stone in a Gothic style, the present day property is discreetly situated behind high walls in a tree lined residential road and offers the idyllic tranquillity only created by an authentic country house hotel. Present owners, Andrew and Christina Brownsword have tastefully and lovingly refurbished the house over the past 12 years and it is now the only hotel in Bath to hold the coveted Michelin Star for its acclaimed food as well as having an RAC Gold Ribbon, prize-winning gardens and pride of place in Egon Ronay’s Top 25 Restaurants in the UK. Complementing the property, the award-winning gardens, which conceal the outdoor heated swimming pool and sun terrace, have been matured and nurtured over 100 years to provide an idyllic and peaceful haven from the city. Giving particular pleasure to the guests is the Victorian Kitchen Garden, which was developed from the original plot and still supplies the kitchen and Michelin Star, award-winning restaurant with most of the seasonal herbs and vegetables The four acres of gardens at The Bath Priory are an integral part of the hotel and its reputation. They are laid out in a typically English country style with a croquet lawn and herbaceous borders stocked with a selection of superb mature specimen shrubs and trees. Jane Moore (An RHS Silver Medal Winner at Chelsea Flower Show) is Head Gardener and is supervising the evolution of the garden. One of her main projects has been the restoration of the hotel’s Victorian Kitchen Garden, making it productive enough to supply the kitchen with the freshest of organic produce throughout the year. Rooms 27 bedrooms and 4 suites which are luxurious and en-suite. Some rooms look over the front of the house while others enjoy stunning views over our south facing 4 acres of landscaped gardens. Each room has been individually designed and is named after a flower. Carnation has fantastic views over our garden, a dressing room and a four poster bed, while Azalea can be found at the top of a spiral staircase. In our Heather and Lilac rooms you will find a small balcony that overlooks the gardens and beautiful marble bathrooms. Bath is a popular destination for overseas tourists and those escaping from London for a weekend break in the country.
