Monasteries, Convents and Abbeys have been totally renewed into Monastery-Hotels. They provide all the facilities of a three or four star hotel at much lower rates but maintaining the charm and ambience as they were hundreds of years ago.

Traditionally located in the best places, surrounded by parks but in the same time just in the center of the city or in its near surroundings.

Rooms are completely renewed, with all modern facilities and private bathroom. Many rooms have wonderful views over parks, cloisters or panoramic spots;

Convents and Monasteries even make their own wine and olive oil, or have special recipes for cookies or pastas. Their Restaurants offer traditional and creative cooking prepared with fresh and selected products.

Service, cleanliness, and charming atmosphere are assured on each location. The setting of each property guarantees guests Calm and relaxation.

Private bathrooms - monastery lodgings we book must have rooms with en-suite or exclusive use private bathroom facilities.

Breakfast - accommodation listed (except where noted in the Rates table) offers breakfast as part of the room rate per night. Breakfast in Italy is not a main meal, expect a healthy combination of bread rolls, jams, cold meats, and coffee (The Italians make great but strong coffee - great for a day of sight-seeing)

Safe, good value lodgings - we figure you don't want to spend a lot of time in your room when travelling - there is too much to see and do in our experience, so the accommodation provided is simple and safe. It's not luxurious but more than adequate and comfortable - you'll get a good night's sleep (check the Facilities table for curfews). We self assess monasteries listed as offering a three to four star room facilities.

The accommodation should be conducted by a religious order. We want our customers to experience an authentic slice of Italian life and are aware that a lot of monasteries have been converted to high-class and expensive hotels by private operators - the monasteries and convent guest houses we book are part of a hospitality service that has been around for 1500+ years - they are open for all travelers.
