Day Eight:
Sumidero Canyon, Chiapa de Corzo and San Cristobal de las Casas

Boat ride through the majestic Sumidero Canyon with walls more than 1000 feet high. San Cristobal is a beautiful colonial town in a pine clad mountain valley. Overnight La Casa Mexicana.

Day Nine: San Cristobal de las Casas
At an elevation of 6950 ft., this lovely colonial town enjoys mild weather and cool nights. Tour this town as well as the nearby Tzotzil villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan.

Day Ten: Agua Azul, Misol Ha and Palenque
Enjoy the lovely waterfalls of Chiapas on the way to Palenque.

Day Eleven: Palenque
Palenque is one of the most breathtaking sites in Mesoamerica with temples and pyramids covered with fine sculpture and hieroglyphs. Overnight Palenque.

Day Twelve: Campeche

Day Thirteen: Edzna, Kabah and Uxmal
Morning tour of colonial Campeche. Continue to the Maya centers of Edzna with it's Pyramid of the Five Stories. Tour Kabah before arriving at your hotel at Uxmal. Tonight enjoy the Uxmal Light and Sound Show.

Day Fourteen: Uxmal and Merida
Morning tour of Uxmal with it's magnificent temples and palace. In colonial Merida drive down Paseo Montejo, one of Mexico's most beautiful avenues.

Day Fifteen: Izamal, Chichen Itza, Valladolid and Cancun
Explore the huge convent of Izamal, built over a Maya temple in 1561. Lunch at Hotel Mayaland before touring massive Chichen Itza. Dinner and overnight in Cancun.

Day Sixteen: Departure
Transfer to Cancun Airport or extend your stay.

Day One: Arrive Mexico City
Airport greeting and transfer to your hotel. Following a tour orientation in the gardens of the hotel, enjoy a Welcome to Mexico Dinner.

Day Two: Mexico City
After breakfast we will walk across the central park to visit the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the old city of Tenochtitlan. The touring vehicle will take us to Chapultapec Park to visit Chapultapec Castle and Mexico's great Museum of Anthropology.

Day Three: Teotihuacan and Oaxaca
On our way to the archaeological park of Teotihuacan, we will stop to see the Shrine of Guadalupe. After touring Teotihuacan's Avenue of the Dead and the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, continue to the charming colonial town of Oaxaca which was founded in 1521. There will be time to enjoy Oaxaca's colorful markets and colonial architecture.

Day Four: Oaxaca and Santo Domingo
Tour Oaxaca and Santo Domingo.

Day Five: Monte Alban
After breakfast visit the ancient Zapotec settlement of Santa Maria Atzompa. Continue to the oldest city in Mesoamerica, Monte Alban, for guided tour. The Zapotec people ruled the Oaxaca Valley from the Monte Alban for over a millenium. After the Zapotec collapse, the city was used as a necropolis by Mixtec rulers.

Day Six: Mitla, Tule Tree and Tehuantepec
After visiting the archaeological site of Mitla, see the 2000 year old dropping Juniper Tree with a trunk diameter of 42 meters. Overnight in Tehuantepec.

Day Seven: Tuxtla Gutierrez
Formerly Olmec and an Azte territory. Tuxla is now the modern capital city of Chiapas.
