Day 1: Arrive Calgary
Tour departs: Calgary Airport at 3:00 PM. Welcome to Calgary, gateway to the magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains! Meet your Tauck Director at the airport as you begin your Canadian alpine adventure! Travel to Banff National Park, an untamed wilderness of breathtaking natural beauty. Join us for a welcome dinner tonight at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Canada's “Castle in the Rockies.” Meals D

Day 2: Hike into Johnson Canyon
Journey along Bow Valley Parkway, home to a variety of wildlife including elk, deer, sheep, coyote, black bear and an occasional grizzly, en route to Johnson Canyon! Enjoy a short hike into the Canyon to view a magical alpine landscape, overflowing with waterfalls. Look for the “dipper” or water ouzel, a bird that loves to swim, dive and even eat in fast moving water, and the black swift which often nests in the canyon walls. Spend the remainder of the day as you wish, enjoying resort activities. Meals BLD

Day 3: Picnic at Lake Louise / Jasper
Venture into Glacier country this morning, where activities include a picnic lunch overlooking the emerald waters of Lake Louise. Enjoy a canoe ride or wilderness hike before experiencing one of the world's greatest journeys along the spectacular Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park. Stop to see the impressive Sunwapta Falls and continue on to Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, in the heart of Jasper National Park. Meals BLD

Day 4: Hike through Maligne Canyon
Hike through spectacular Maligne Canyon this morning, following a two-mile interpretive trail. Lush forests and limestone walls surround you, at times plunging down 180 feet into the Maligne River. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to do as you wish; there are many fun family activities to choose from both at the resort and within Jasper National Park, such as guided walks, hiking, croquet, golf, horseback riding and bicycling. Take an evening “bath” in the thermal pool at Miette Hot Springs tonight, the hottest in the Rockies. Meals B

Day 5: River Rafting Adventure in Jasper
Get set for an exciting river rafting adventure this morning, exploring close-up Jasper's awesome natural beauty. Your river guide will point out wildlife along the way, and tell you fascinating stories about the history of

early fur trading in this area; keep an eye out for beaver and elk! This afternoon enjoy the many optional activities available at the Lodge, including fishing, canoeing, and hiking. Meals BD

Day 6: Sno-Coach Ride / Icefields Parkway
Take a thrilling “sno-coach” ride this morning en route to Calgary, in a vehicle specially designed for riding on the surface of a glacier; glide across the mighty Athabasca Glacier, one of many “rivers of ice” flowing from the Columbia Icefields to the Atlantic, Pacific and

Arctic oceans. This afternoon drive along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, seeing awesome glaciers dating back to the Ice Age, thundering waterfalls and lush green forests. Join us for a farewell dinner tonight at your hotel. Meals BLD
 

Day 7: Journey Home
