Discover Niagara Falls See how ships make their way through the locks of the 27-mile-long Welland Canal this morning as Le Levant traverses the canal en route to Niagara Falls. Built in 1829 to link Lake Erie with Lake Ontario, it is truly an engineering masterpiece. After lunch you'll don a special hooded raincoat and board the celebrated Maid of the Mist for what is certain to be an unforgettable cruise to the base of Niagara Falls, one of the world's landmark natural icons. Watch as the falls plunge 200 ft. over limestone cliffs at a rate of 34 million gallons per minute! Niagara Falls is one of the world's most inspiring natural wonders – no matter how often you see it, the sheer majestic force of the falls is breathtaking. The Henry Ford / Point Pelee Dock this morning in Windsor, Ontario's "City of Roses," internationally acclaimed for its beautiful parkland, lakeside gardens and miles of striking waterfront views. You have your choice of activities today. Spend the day reliving America's dynamic growth, from the 1800's to present day, through the fascinating collections and historic exhibits dedicated to historic Americana at Dearborn's "The Henry Ford," featuring the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Or, join our local guide on an excursion through the many natural splendors of Point Pelee National Park, a birdwatcher's paradise and home to more than 700 plants. Spend the evening at sea en route to Lake Huron. Meals BLD • 4. Manitoulin Island  Cruise Georgian Bay, often called the sixth Great Lake, admiring the spectacular limestone cliffs of islands dating back more than 400 million years. Take in the unusual sights of Flowerpot Island, among the Bay's 30,000 islands, including cliff-top caves and the tapered "flowerpot" columns that grace its shores. One of the world's most beautiful freshwater islands, Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron enchants with a blend of Native American culture and legend amidst a truly breathtaking backdrop of lakes, farmland and woodland forests. Explore Mackinac Island  Arrive at historic Mackinac island through the impressive Mackinac Bridge. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride along the lovely cobblestone streets of Mackinac Island during your visit today as you travel back in time to the 19th century. View Victorian-era cottages, looking much as they did in 1875, when Congress designated most of the island a national park, and visit 18th-century Fort Mackinac, one of the best-preserved forts in the country. The island played an important role in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812; see memorabilia throughout the island reminiscent of these times. The afternoon is spent at your leisure, perhaps hiking scenic nature trails, exploring the island's historic sites, or bicycling along the shoreline on the only U.S. highway that bans automobiles. Enjoy a sand schooner ride through mountainous dunes unique to the East Coast of Lake Michigan; this afternoon, you have a choice of excursions. Visit "Stonegate" for a garden tour and tea, as well as a demonstration in floral design and rustic furniture construction. Or, take a painting class with a local artist.
