Michigan is surrounded by the vast Great Lakes. Its coastline is longer than the Atlantic coast from Maine to Florida. Within two peninsulas – Lower and Upper – there are some 11,000 inland lakes and 36,000 miles of rivers and streams. Michigan is more than just water; it is beaches and sand dunes, rich fruit-growing farmland and fragrant forests. |
