Welcome to the historic city of Boston! We invite you to join us for a 6:30 PM welcome reception and dinner. Meals D

2. Boston / Cambridge

Truly the "Cradle of American Liberty," a city sightseeing tour includes views of Faneuil Hall, Old State House and South Meeting House. Visit Old North Church, and travel across the Charles River to Cambridge to see Harvard, Radcliffe, and the common where George Washington took command of the Continental Army. The afternoon is free to explore, perhaps walking the "Freedom Trail" through the historic streets or cruising the scenic waters of Boston Harbor. Meals B

3. Lexington / Concord / Salem
Follow the route of Paul Revere's ride through historic Lexington and Concord. The events which led to the Revolutionary War will unfold at every turn in the road, climaxed by a visit to the "rude bridge that arched the flood" where stands Concord's renowned Minute Man statue. Travel through the scenic landscapes of Massachusetts to Salem for a visit to the beautiful streetscapes of McIntire Historic District; see Chestnut Street's numerous Federal-Era townhouses and other notable pre-1900 residential homes. Journey to the historic city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where European settlers first arrived in 1603, prospering in private shipbuilding. Meals BD

4. Kennebunkport / White Mtns.

Sightsee Kennebunkport this morning, along the rocky coast of Ocean Drive; lobster boats often cruise offshore; take in the view of former President George Bush's summer home at Walker Point. Drive into the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and travel through Crawford Notch. Spend the night in Whitefield, where you'll attend a fascinating presentation on the seasonal ecology of northern New England. Meals BLD

5. White Mtns. / Green Mtns.
Enter Franconia Notch, where the famed rock profile of the "Old Man of the Mountain" stood until 2003. On a clear day you will be able to view majestic Mount Washington, New England's tallest peak. Travel to Hanover for a visit to the Ivy League college of Dartmouth. Vermont is alive with rich greens during spring and summer, and is aflame with color in autumn; enjoy the serenity of rural life. See charming villages en route to historic Plymouth, where you'll enjoy a two-night resort stay. Meals BLD

6. Rural Vermont / Woodstock
Travel along quiet country lanes to Woodstock, jewel of the Green Mountains; visit the Billings Farm and Museum. After lunch, there is time to explore downtown Woodstock, browse through the specialty shops or photograph the quaint covered bridge.
