1. Arrive Portland
Tour Departs: Portland International Airport at 2:00 PM.
Oregon's largest city sits on the Columbia River; follow the river
upstream into Columbia Gorge, whose basalt cliffs hold secrets dating
back 10,000 years. Discover the historical significance of this great
waterway as you visit Multnomah Falls, highest of dozens of
waterfalls. Stroll through Portland's famous Rose Garden before
arriving at the hotel for a welcome dinner overlooking this lovely

2. Mt. Hood / Cascades
Mt. Hood dominates Portland's city skyline; climb the mountain for
spectacular views of the region. Cross the Oregon Cascade Mountains to
the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, where you'll explore the culture
and history of the Wasco, Paiute and Warm Springs peoples. Descendants
of those who welcomed the explorers Lewis and Clark still live here
today. Following lunch,
travel through the region's incredible desert to magnificent
Sunriver Resort, your home for the next two nights. Meals BLD
3. Sunriver Resort at Leisure
Today is at your leisure amidst the peaceful surroundings of Sunriver.
Join us for a visit to the High Desert Museum, featuring the art,
science, nature, and history of the Intermountain West. Return to
Sunriver for an afternoon at your leisure; the resort offers 54 holes
of championship golf and 30 miles of bike paths. You might consider a
whitewater rafting adventure on the beautiful Deschutes River, a
guided hike, bicycling, horseback riding or tennis. Meals BD
4. Crater Lake / Shakespeare
Journey through the high desert, climbing into the steep valleys and
lush forests of the magnificent Cascades. Crater Lake is America's
deepest and bluest lake in Oregon's only national park. Formed when
12,000-ft. Mt. Mazama collapsed nearly 8,000 years ago, it's rimmed by
walls soaring as high as 2,000 ft. Arrive in Ashland, where you'll
attend an outdoor Shakespearean theatre performance this evening at
the popular Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Meals BL
5. Rogue River Jet Boats
The wild and scenic Rogue River is one of the great natural treasures
of the region. Journey through fruit-producing foothills to Grants
Pass this morning for an opportunity to
travel the river by jet boat. It's truly a thrilling way to
visit this pristine setting that is inhabited by steelhead salmon,
blue heron and American bald eagles. Following lunch, travel to the
state's second largest city, Eugene, located along the banks of the
Willamette River. Meals BLD
6. Cape Perpetua
Travel through the spectacular scenery of the Coast Ranges to the
dramatic Oregon coast. Visit Cape Perpetua in Siuslaw National Forest
to admire scenic vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Visit the Oregon Coast
Aquarium, six acres of indoor and outdoor marine exhibits featuring
coastal animals and their habitats. Savor the ocean air for the next
two nights at the lovely Salishan Lodge. Meals BLD
7. Explore the Oregon Coast
Newport's historic waterfront is a bustling center of commerce and
tourism. Take an enlightening cruise into the waters of Yaquina Bay to
see the habitats of local marine life and the harvesting methods of
the local seafood industry; seasonal residents include sea lions and
migrating gray whales. Visit the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area
and Historic Lighthouse, one of the first navigational aids built on
the Pacific Northwest coast. Return to the Salishan Lodge for a free
afternoon; enjoy a short round of golf, or take a stroll along the
beach. We invite you to join us this evening for a farewell dinner.

Tour ends: Portland International Airport at 10:30 AM. Allow
a minimum of two hours for flight check-in. Independent transfers at
