Canadian Rockies and British Columbia

This journey moves at a more comfortable pace than competitors’ tours operating round-trip from Seattle. Avoid the redundant, two-day backtrack from the Canadian Rockies to Seattle, and enjoy four days along British Columbia’s spectacular coast plus more time in the Canadian Rockies.

  Full Itinerary

1. Arrive SeattleCanadian Rockies and Britiah Columbia
Tour begins: Seattle Airport at 1:30 PM. Once a sleepy sawmill town in the mid-19th century, an afternoon sightseeing tour provides a look at this “Emerald City,” flanked by the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Join us for an exclusive welcome dinner cruise on lovely Lake Washington. Meals D

2. Olympic Peninsula

Sail across Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula, and view scenic vistas en route to Port Angeles for lunch. A ferry takes you for a tranquil cruise to Vancouver Island. Arrive in the charming city of Victoria, capital of British Columbia. Your hotel overlooks the splendid natural harbor, where sloops and catamarans line the waters. Meals BLD

3. Butchart Gardens / Victoria

Visit magnificent Butchart Gardens, featuring different styles of landscapes brilliantly aflame with thousands of flowers. Return to Victoria, where the afternoon is at your leisure. Stroll along the inner harbor, shop for items unique to Canada or sample the spa and fitness center at your hotel. This friendly and charming city offers a variety of attractions to explore and unique restaurants to sample. Meals B

4. Gulf Islands / Vancouver

Ferry through the tranquil Gulf Islands – almost 200 islands of different shapes and sizes, each with its own distinct features. Arrive in Vancouver, a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse city set beneath the peaks of the Coast Mountains. Explore Vancouver this afternoon at your leisure, perhaps visiting landmark sites such as Stanley Park, Prospect Point, Gastown or Chinatown. Meals BL

5. Howe Sound / Whistler

Cross Vancouver’s landmark Lions Gate Bridge to fast-growing North Vancouver, and travel on the “Sea to Sky Highway” along the shoreline of Howe Sound; some of Canada’s most beautiful scenery is found along this coastline. Arrive at Whistler, the largest year-round resort in Canada. Meals BD

6. Vistas of British Columbia

Travel through the snow-capped mountains of the Coast Range and the fertile Pemberton Valley into the high desert of interior British Columbia, renowned for its natural resources that include agriculture and timber. Continue through the region’s commercial center of Kamloops, and on to the pristine setting of Sun Peaks, one of the province’s newest ski resort developments. Meals BLD

7. Yellowhead Highway / Jasper

The northern reaches of the province are remote and isolated; today’s travel is along the original route of the Canadian National Railroad. Follow historic Yellowhead Pass through forests and valleys to Mount Robson, at 12, 973 ft. the Canadian Rockies’ highest peak. Enjoy a two-night stay at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Meals BLD

8. Jasper National Park
Canadian Rockies and British Columbia
Today is at your leisure. The lakeside resort is a “village” of cottages and cabins along picturesque pathways. You’ll discover many optional activities – hiking, golfing, swimming, tennis or simply reflecting on the spectacular vistas. Additional activities might include white water raft rides on the Athabasca River, a walk around Lac Beauvert, or perhaps a visit to the town of Jasper. Meals BD

9. Icefields Parkway

The Icefields Parkway winds through a panorama of snow-domed peaks, hanging glaciers and waterfalls. Visit Athabasca Glacier for a ride on the glacier in a specially-built vehicle to learn about its crevasses, seracs, and other features. The valleys along the parkway are seasonal homes for wildlife; you may see deer, moose, bighorn sheep, or bear along the way. Arrive late afternoon at the beautiful resort of Château Lake Louise. In the spring there is often late snow, framing the lake and glacier with lofty snowbound peaks – a memorable sight! Meals BLD

10. Lake Louise / Banff

The morning is free to walk along the lake’s lovely promenade, swim in the hotel’s pool or enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Visit lovely Moraine Lake, conditions permitting, before descending along the Bow River Valley to Banff National Park, nestled among the peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your home for the next two nights is the baronial Fairmont Banff Springs overlooking scenic vistas of magnificent Bow Valley – one of Canada’s most inspirational settings. Meals BLD

11. Banff National Park

Banff is a lovely village that is surrounded by magnificent beauty. The day is free for you to explore Banff on your own; optional activities include golf and swimming, or perhaps pampering yourself in the hotel’s renowned spa; independent sightseeing can be arranged. We invite you to join us this evening for a farewell dinner. Meals BD

12. Journey Home

Depart Banff National Park and travel to Calgary. Tour ends: Calgary International Airport at 10:00 AM. Allow a minimum of two hours for flight check-in; flights direct to the United States clear United States customs in Calgary. Meals B
